One of the most important things to know in Texas Hold'em is Hand Ranking. You need to know what beats what, so you know if you have won or not. I am going to give you the list of hand rankings along with examples, so it is easy to follow.
Texas Hold'em Hand Ranking
The BEST hand is a Royal Flush- that is when it's the highest of cards starting with the ace to ten as well they are all suited.
Example: Ac Kc Qc Jc 10c
The second Best hand is the Straight Flush- any other five cards that are consecutive and same suit.
Example: 6c 7c 8c 9c 10c
Then it takes us to Four of A Kind- that is when four cards are the same.
Example: Ac 4h 4s 4d 4c
Next is the Full House- which three cards that are the same, with two other ones that are the same.
Example: Qh Qd Qc 10h 10c
After that comes the Flush - the cards are all the same suit ( the card rank doesn't matter)
Example: Jc Kc 2c 8c 10c
The the Straight- which is five cards that are in chronological order (suit doesn't matter)
Example: Kd Qc Js 10h 9c
Three of A Kind- Having three cards that are the same rank
Example: Jc 2c 10h 10d 10c
Two Pair- Two pairs of the different rank cards
Example: Kc Kh 2c 10c 10d
One Pair- As it says one pair
Example: Jc Kc 2c 8c 8d
Finally the High Card - when no one has made a hand, the way to determine the winner is to find out who has the highest ranked card.
