How to Play Texas Holdem Poker - Common Pocket Card Nicknames

For as long as Poker has been around there have been various nicknames for players most favorite, and sometimes least favorite, hands. When learning how to play taxes hold em poker, most people are confused as to what hands these nicknames stand for. Although the nicknames vary from person to person, a few common ones are listed below:
Pocket Pairs:
AA - Pocket Rockets
KK - Twin Brothers
KQ - Royalty
QQ - Twin Sisters
JJ - "Same Joke Twice"
10 10 - Double Digits
9 9 - Hooks
8 8 - Crazy Eights
7 7 - The Sticks
6 6 - Meat Hooks
5 5 - Cruise Control, Speed Limit
4 4 - Sailor Jerry
3 3 - Crab Claws
2 2 - Desperate Set
Other Favorite Hands:
AK - Blood Brothers
AQ - Blood Relatives
AJ - Ajax
A10 - Anarchy
67 - Middle Fiddle
910 - Castle Siege
Other Least favorite Hands:
72 - Big Bluff
A2 - Top and Bottom
This list does not include all of the nicknames out there, just a few of my favorites mixed in with all the common ones I have come across.
If you hear a starting hand referenced by a name, such as the Doyle Brunson (10 2), it is usually a mediocre-bad hand that won a famous hand. Doyle Brunson won the World Series of Poker with 10-2 and earned the nickname.
Feel free to make up names for starting hands yourself, that is how these all became famous!
